We envision an inviting, welcoming, and hospitable congregation.
Purpose:
Our purpose is
to encourage the members of Bon Air UMC to reach out to all people and receive them as they are,
to attract new members and assimilate them into ministries which match their gifts and graces, and
to assist all members in finding meaningful ways to share their faith.
Here are some of the ways our church fulfills our vision and purpose for Evangelism Ministries:
Sunday Morning Visitor Registration Team which identifies first time visitors and makes sure that they receive a visit from a member of our congregation.
If you would like to be a part of this team, please contact Lauren Lobenhofer.
Lay Visitation Teams make visits to our first time visitors, delivering information about our church family, and welcoming them to our faith community. Bon Air Buddies are persons who are members of this congregation who stand in support of new members as they take their membership vows. Bon Air Buddies are a connection to this family of faith for new members as they transition into a new faith community. Bread Bakers are members of Bon Air UMC who use their gifts of baking to welcome visitors. Each week, first time visitors receive a small loaf of bread. This bread symbolizes Christ, the bread of life (John 6:35), who invites us into His fellowship. This is one of the ways Bon Air UMC welcomes visitors into our fellowship of Christ. Greeters are members who are trained to create an initial welcoming atmosphere for all who worship at Bon Air. Greeters are available to offer hospitality and a warm welcome.
If you are interested in being a Greeter at Bon Air UMC, please contact Lauren Lobenhofer. |
